Hellersdorf-Berlin investigates ownership on this emotional level with a multistage evolution of a typical block housing project. As time passes, residents add, sutract, trade and overlap their spaces, informing each design choice themselves. Balconies are shared, gardens are cosntructed, rooflines are altered. In time, the aggregation represents a dissolution of the rigid housing structure and breathes life into the community that created this new and curious creature.
